Bio
Jeannie comes from a long line of musicians. Her grandfather, Rock Wiggins, played the
fiddle. Her father, Charles, a local musician, plays guitar, bass, sings and the fiddle.
Uncle, Cleve, plays guitar, bass, sings and the fiddle, and uncle Steve plays organ and
piano. Jeannie has a whole lot planned for 2006 and we will keep you updated.

Jeannie was born on October 31, 1963 in Charleston, SC. She still lives in Charleston.
Jeannie started making music at about the age of seven. She played guitar
first. Her parents gave a guitar for Christmas one year and it took off from there.
When she went to elementary school, she started playing drums and the violin.
She played in the school orchestra all the way through twelfth grade. In
eleventh and twelfth grade she played guitar and drums in the James Island High School
jazz band. During late middle school and early high school years, she started playing bass
guitar.
Jeannie and some guys from school formed a band called Second Helping
where she was the lead singer and played bass. This was just one of the bands she played
in. After Second Helping, she also played in Exit 215, Tytan, The
Reaction, and of course the Missing Linc. Jeannie started writing music when
she was in her early teens. But she really took off when she hooked up with Wesley
Williamson and James Richter in the Missing Linc.
Since the Missing Linc, Jeannie has been writing music and playing with her
band. When she is not working with the band, she does acoustic work.
The Jeannie Wiggins (JW) Band was put together a few years ago.
Some members have changed through the years. For different reasons right now, the band is
a four piece with Jeannie on vocals and guitar, Mike Sparks on lead guitar, Chris Nisoff
on bass, and Kevin Smith on drums. Kevin has been with Jeannie for approximately fifteen
years. |
